Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days -
Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is
seeking an experienced RN for an ICU Charge Float Pool position in
Colorado, requiring a CO or compact RN license and strong critical
care experience. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in a hospital
acute care setting as part of the ICU Charge Float Pool - Cares for
patients across multiple ICU specialties including MICU, SICU,
TICU, and CVICU - Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2
depending on acuity, may flex to 1:3 as needed - Day shift, 12
hours per shift, with 6-9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule -
Floating required within a 60-mile radius Zone 3, covering multiple
hospitals and all acuity levels (ICU, PCU/Stepdown, MS-Tele) - Epic
EMR used; previous experience preferred - No monitor techs; RNs are
expected to interpret their own telemetry - Required to assist with
or manage respiratory equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and
high flow devices - Unit does not have nurse aides, except for
sitter needs - Orientation includes 1-2 days with a preceptor -
Charge role involves responding to codes and rapid responses
throughout the hospital - Charge nurses typically do not take full
patient assignments except as necessary, especially on nights -
Expected to assist in respiratory management and troubleshooting in
the ICU - All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting
the assignment - Scrub color is any color - May participate in
holiday rotation - First-time travelers must have at least 3 years
of ICU experience and Epic experience - Candidates cannot have been
employed directly by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the last
year /n /n Requirements/n - Active CO or compact RN license at time
of consideration (pending licenses are not accepted) - Minimum of 2
years of ICU experience required; 3 years for first-time travelers
- Prior charge nurse experience required - Certifications required:
BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS, TNCC - Must be comfortable titrating
all critical drips such as pressors, sedation, paralytics,
antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin - Epic EMR experience
required for first-time travelers; strongly preferred for all
candidates - Driver's license required for consideration - Two
professional references: one supervisor from the last 12 months,
one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, including employment
dates and eligibility for rehire - Must reside at least 60 miles
