POSITION SUMMARY: The role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating and buying of goods, materials and services to meet VaporTech operational requirements. The role is responsible for working closely with internal customers and outside product and service providers to ensure materials are acquired to reduce business risk, maximize customer quality and delivery, and continuously reduce inflationary pricing pressures.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBIITIES:Supplier ManagementEnsure that the supplier and purchasing policies, processes and metrics are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of quality, delivery and price targets which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market;Characterize procurement risks and cooperatively define and execute necessary mitigation and contingency plans;Optimize procurement processes and tools to deliver products and services at highest quality, on-time at the lowest cost to support all stakeholders including operations and engineering;Review, negotiate and manage contract terms with suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with engineering and operational input;Maintain an effective supplier scorecard process to measure and improve the effectiveness of suppliers;Ensure all sourcing strategies take into account relevant health, safety, environment including product-environmental and import compliance requirements.Material ReplenishmentCoordinate the design and execution of appropriate material replenishment processes and metrics to ensure the operational needs of the business are met;Establish and review the part replenishment methods using tools like ABC analysis, plan-for-every part and cycle counting and collaborate with the Manufacturing Manager, Service Manager, Materials Manager, Shared Services Manager and Shipping and Receiving to sustain;Work closely with Sales and Operations to forecast demand and adjust replenishment strategies to meet demand and schedule requirements;Value ManagementIdentify and prioritize opportunities using data to improve the value of products, services and business processes;Coordinate with senior leadership on executing value projects using structured tools like VAVE, VSM and other structured problem-solving techniques;Deliver year-over-year total cost productivity savings in materials, supplies and services.OTHER:Drive a culture of risk, quality, delivery and cost improvement based on accountability and data driven planning and decision making;All other duties as assigned.EXPECTED OUTCOMES:Business Risk Reductions, System and DST Delivery On-Time Delivery, Schedule Attainment for Various Workstreams, Total Cost ProductivitySKILLS and ABILITIES:Experience managing and indirectly influencing priorities of suppliers and service providers;Proven track record of achieving results adding value, reducing costs and improving supplier quality and delivery;Excellent relationship management skills at all levels of the organization with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers;Direct experience sourcing highly engineered fabricated components and electronics;Exceptional knowledge of ERP systems, experience with Made2Manage;Detail oriented with exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving abilities;Expert with software tools for word processing, data management and project planning.Able to work independently with minimal supervision.Exhibits strong time management and organizational skillsQUALIFICATIONS:7+ years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing or production environment of capital goods;Experience as a planner, buyer and materials specialist in a complex engineered products business;Experience and understanding of lean manufacturing;Bachelor's Degree in business with a focus on supply chain management and logistics;APICS Certification desired. Other certifications in supply chain management, a plus;Must be authorized to work in the US.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The employee is often required to sit and use his or her hands and fingers, to handle or feel for extended periods of time.
