***Note: This position requires 50% travel throughout the US***

Here's how a(n) Learning and Development Specialist for our Denver office contributes to our team:


  • Applies adult learning methodologies to deliver instructor-led courses or programs.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts to design and develop advanced curricula.
  • Assesses the needs of the participants and modifies instructional strategies.
  • Uses rapid authoring tools to develop e-learning to support instructor-led courses or programs.
  • Leads development of standards and evaluates courses or programs, and implements revisions to improve quality.
  • Provides company-wide support and consultation services on all matters related to learning and development initiatives at PCL.
  • Leads team members in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of entry-level to intermediate behavioral and technical courses or programs.
  • Manages the preparation of course materials, including pre- and post-course work.
  • Researches and applies best practices and industry trends. Identifies and evaluates appropriate external vendors, consultants, and partners, and manages relationships and deliverables.
  • Acts as project lead for assigned initiatives and programs and applies the principles of project and time management to track tasks/deadlines for self and a team.
  • Facilitates strategic planning and partnering sessions.
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure alignment with priorities and initiatives.

    • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in a related discipline preferred.
    • 7 years of progressive experience with training delivery and/or facilitation in a corporate environment preferred.
    • 3 years designing and implementing new courses or programs preferred.
    • Understanding of adult learning theory and practices. Various instructional design approaches, instruction methodologies, and learner-centric design and learning solutions and new developments.
    • Ability to deliver an instructor-led course to a diverse group of participants with varying knowledge, experience, and backgrounds.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and present ideas and content that influence a favorable outcome.
    • Ability to act as a change agent by applying change-management methodology.
    • Results oriented and has proven project management experience.
    • Ability to develop and form relationships and gain the confidence of learners to ensure effective facilitation.
    • Ability to assess the needs of the organization, and prioritize and propose programs and initiatives that support employee learning and development.
    • Experience with identifying and evaluating external vendors, consultants, and partners and managing relationships and deliverables.
    • Experience leading execution of Professional Development programs and initiatives.

      The salary range for this position is between $64,000 and $96,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
