What You Get To Do: Change the lives of those in your care! The Monitor I, Community Corrections (PRN) is responsible for the supervision of the facility population including but not limited to safety, security and facility sanitation. Provides for the care, custody and control of residents and establishes a safe environment for the facility, staff, visitors and residents.
Monitors resident population and reports any suspicious activities or violations of policy, procedures, or regulations by residents or other individuals.Conducts resident counts, searches, room inspections, and vehicle searches as required.Conducts drug and alcohol testing as needed or as directed by facility administration.Processes residents for intake/discharge in accordance with policies and procedures.Coordinates the checkout of residents during approved times and documents resident departures and arrivals at the facility in accordance with prescribed policy requirements.Inspects and evaluates physical and sanitary condition of facility and resident living quarters on assigned shift and provides written documentation of inspections.Reports and submits maintenance work orders for vehicle maintenance, painting, repairs, furnishings, relocation of equipment and reallocation of space.Conducts internal security checks and inspections of the perimeter of the facility and grounds, as directed by supervisor.Monitors resident worker activities, provides necessary instruction, and applies standards and procedures for the completion and quality of work performed by residents, where applicable.Provides transportation services to resident population as assigned by supervisor.Monitors safety practices and the preparation and dissemination of safety and accident reports as required by policy. Takes appropriate action in cases of serious and unusual incidents and emergencies.Answers and places accountability phone calls to determine resident/inmate compliance with protocols and responsibilities.Ensures the availability of cleaning supplies and equipment to maintain the facility sanitation, and verifies that chemicals are inventoried, stored, handled and used properly.Ensures that supplies, clothing and linen issued to residents are clean and in good condition. Provides for proper repair, exchange or replacement of items.Performs rescue functions at accidents, emergencies and disasters to include administering basic emergency medical aid and CPR, physically removing people away from dangerous situations, and securing and evacuating people from confined areas.Complies with the requirements of applicable regulations, laws, rules, procedures, policies, standards and/or contractual requirements.Domestic U.S. travel may be required. Qualifications:
High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required. Work experience in the operations of a correctional facility is preferred. Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing and apply problem solving techniques to complex issues. Must be available to work any hours, any shift. Must complete pre-service and other training programs as required. A valid driver's license is required.Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
