Job Description:
Volunteer Coordinator
Working as part of a team, the Volunteer Coordinator provides
logistical support and coordination of Volunteer Services for New
Construction, Critical Home Repair projects, the ReStore, and the
Administrative office.
This is a full-time position. Usual workdays will be Tuesday
through Saturday; however, the position may occasionally require
work in evenings or weekends.
Position requires travel between sites in personal vehicle. Valid
driver license required. Multiple sites are located in Longmont,
Dacono, and Estes Park. Flexibility is required.
Responsibilities:
Exercises independent judgment to coordinate all individual
volunteers and volunteer groups, including regulars and volunteer
crew leads. This includes recruitment of volunteers to meet
construction needs, tending to any logistical matters, and setting
proper roles and expectations for each volunteer.
Ensures proper legal documentation is received from volunteers.
Works with Construction Department and ReStore to create volunteer
schedules.
Responds to volunteer inquiries and informs volunteers of policies,
procedures, and safety standards.
Collaborates with Construction Department and ReStore to ensure
volunteers have both a productive and positive volunteer
experience.
Identify, analyze, and track critical metrics necessary to create a
successful volunteer experience.
Manages online volunteer registration system and database that
tracks volunteer time.
Plans and executes volunteer appreciation events.
Assists in affiliate fundraising efforts by recruiting Adopt-A-Day
volunteer groups.
Trains, schedules, and manages the work of administrative
volunteers.
Recruit, train, and manage the work of a Volunteer Services
AmeriCorps (when appropriate).
Educates volunteers about Habitat for Humanity's work and
vision.
Supports other needs of the Development Department, including event
planning assistance, attending outreach events, etc. which may
occur on evenings or weekends.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience: One year directly related experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience is highly desirable.
Language Skills: Ability to speak effectively before groups of
volunteers, homeowners, or employees. Spanish language skills are a
significant plus. Ability to read and interpret documents such as
safety documents and procedure manuals. Ability to complete forms
accurately, write routine reports and correspondence.
Computer Skills: Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office
software, Outlook, and have working knowledge of social media and
its applications.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to
carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables
in standardized situations.
Physical Demands: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move
up to 25 pounds.
Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to listen and direct people to
other agencies when needed. Ability to be flexible. Ability to
resolve conflict and effectively work with difficult personalities
from time to time.
Support of the Habitat for Humanity Mission: Candidate must be able
to demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy of Habitat for
Humanity in building homes in partnership with the homeowner and

Candidate must possess (or ability to acquire) a valid Colorado
driver's license
