Definition: The Website Administrator is a key member of the Communications Division responsible for the City's website(s), employee Intranet and/or SharePoint portal. The Website Administrator leads the strategic development and design of an accessible, innovative, mobile responsive, and user-friendly on-brand website for the City, supporting the City's strategic priorities, and operational, business, and communications and marketing goals. This position advises on and implements the architecture, design, and day-to-day management of the City's website(s), including deployment of upgrades and redesigns. The communications team works in a fast-paced environment to plan and execute web- and social media-based campaigns to reach target audiences, and the website administrator plays a central role in ensuring the City's website(s) provide a consistent and engaging user experience with current, accurate, and accessible content. Principal Duties: With direction from the Citywide Communications Manager, the Website Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the City's website and employee Intranet and/or SharePoint portal as a member of the Communications Division. This team works in a fast-paced environment to provide key information to residents, businesses, and visitors to Longmont. The Website Administrator will plan and execute web communications campaigns to reach target audiences and play a key role in ensuring the City's website(s) provides a consistent and excellent user experience with current, accurate, and accessible content. The Website Administrator advises the Citywide Communications Manager, keeping up to date on emerging technologies, platforms, and best practices, and making recommendations for holistic and strategic website development in support of City priorities. The Website Administrator is also a key contributor during City emergencies and actively participates or deploys with the Emergency Operations Center. Working Environment: Work is performed in a standard office environment while working closely with others, including both co-workers and users. Requires light lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds), occasional pulling, pushing, bending/stooping, twisting, kneeling and squatting. Requires occasional walking, standing, and sitting and periodic travel to other City departments. Requires frequent reaching, use of fingers, use of both hands, writing and use of computer equipment, telephone and office equipment. The work requires reading, editing and writing, frequent verbal communication and cooperation with others, performing multiple concurrent tasks, organization, and performing detailed work. Work requires the ability to perform under time constraints and deal with frequent interruptions. Requires occasional nontraditional work hours. Requires reading of documents, confidentiality of work and frequent customer contact. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, design, communications, or a related field or equivalent experience. Five years of increasingly responsible experience in website administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Strong experience with CMS, DAM, and CRM and marketing automation systems and third-party integrations. In-depth knowledge of HTML/CSS, XML, and UI/UX design. Thorough understanding of website best practices, ADA compliance, digital analytics implementations, data integrity, data strategy, and reporting. Knowledge of web analytics, marketing, and assessment tools related to user behavior, SEO, and accessibility. Proficient in Microsoft 365 and able to demonstrate skills in Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Familiar with current web standards. Experience developing effective relationships with internal and external clients. Excellent verbal communication skills and teamwork skills. Understanding of various communications methods and how to develop effective messaging. Proven track record of successful cross-departmental collaboration. Working knowledge of systems, techniques, processes, and terminology used in web design, social media, and other applicable media. Special Qualifications: Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred.
