Our Company

Overview

Primary responsibility to research and evaluate unapplied balance for state compliance. Responsible for the research and/or resolution of unapplied cash balance for an assigned account portfolio in accordance with PharMerica's Client Billing Services Policies and Procedures and the Consumer Credit Protection Act of 1977.

Responsibilities

  • Research and evaluate unapplied cash balances for state compliance. Works with third-party insurers, Medicaid, Medicare and assigned pharmacy locations to resolve unapplied cash issues in a timely manner
  • Facilitate the escheatment process for the state
  • Works with responsible parties, receiving in/out bound telephone calls, providing customer service and following-up
  • Works with internal and external customers to resolve assigned portfolio of accounts. Productivity records will also be maintained
  • Works with Facility Collection Manager /Supervisor in researching pharmacy accounts requiring special attention, as indicated on reports and taking all necessary actions
  • Works with Facility Collection Manager /Supervisor and other members of the management team on special projects as needed.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Learning Experience

  • Required: High School graduate, GED or equivalent experience

Work Experience

  • Required: 1 year billing and/or collections experience
  • Desired: Third Party Billing or collections/billing experience in the healthcare industry; AS400 computer experience

kills/Knowledge

  • Required: 10-Key by touch, data entry, MS Excel and Word and basic computer knowledge
  • Desired: Medical billing and coding

  • Research Private credit balance accounts for possible refunds
  • Research includes evaluating charges, payments and adjustments on every assigned account
  • Works with Residents and Responsible Parties, receiving in/out bound telephone calls to verify contact and payee information
  • Writes detailed notes on every account researched
  • Maintains productivity records on a daily basis
  • Meets required productivity goals on a daily basis
  • Uses available software programs during the Credit Balance Research and Refund processes
  • Helping out with special projects as assigned by Supervisor and Manager
  • Works in a Team Environment helping and relying on other Team Members to get the job done
