In this role you will be a technical representative in the NVM Express Standards committee and span coverage in other industry standards bodies. Responsibilities for this position include the following: Represent Micron's interests in the Committee so need to be able to discuss and negotiate features, behavior and possible changes Periodically report on changes, progress, and relevant activities Attend multiple conference calls each week, depending on active topics Represent Micron in face to face meeting and appropriate working groups Review and become knowledgeable in all changes and technical proposals (TPs) in progress Lead selected TPs: Highly skilled in drafting specifications and leading negotiations with peer members in the standards bodies Co-Lead selected TPs - not as the primary owner, but heavily influences the outcome Observer on selected TPs: Understand and monitor TPs not directly impacting Micron projects Author or co-Author relevant TPs of specific interest You will be assigned specific TP's and will own them end to end, representing Micron's interest in all related calls, events and working groups Drive internal and external discussion on merits, values and proposed changes Manage internal reviews with engineering and relevant protocol description and design documents including high level architectural specifications Manage internal reviews with business unit leaders Become an expert and internal resource for any NVMe behavior question. Clarify internal questions within the standards committee Support engineering development and test teams Represent Micron in related industry standards organizations NVMe-oF, NVMe-KVS, NVMe-MI, etc. Coordinate and represent Micron in other standards bodies, as needed SNIA, T10, PCIe, TCG, etc. Coordinate with all Micron standards representatives to provide a single view of Micron Standard activities for internal reviews Requirements BS/MS Computer Science or related area 10 years of experience with enterprise class storage systems design and development 5 Years of Software/Firmware storage systems development experience 5 Years Software/Firmware storage systems architectural experience Previous experience with industry standards organizations You have a proven record of preparing and defending proposals in standards organizations. Strong knowledge and experience in storage networking Strong knowledge and experience in storage virtualization Knowledge of PCIe interfaces Knowledge of certification programs: FIPs, Ulink, etc. a plus Ability to travel to standards meetings as needed Ability to participate in weekly standards meetings conference calls Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills Strong Negotiation Skills Excellent English writing and speaking skills Ability to build and nurture collaborative alliances About Us As the leader in innovative memory solutions, Micron is helping the world make sense of data by delivering technology that is transforming how the world uses information.
