Work schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays

Definition:
Serve as bartender at events, serve/sell alcoholic beverages and snacks. Organize and control
alcohol concessions at the Longmont Museum. Strong emphasis on customer service and
hospitality working directly with the general public. Work schedule may vary. This position is
required to work evenings and weekends.

Principal Duties:
Take beverage orders from patrons and track, or collect money for drinks served. Check
identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol. Set up and stock
bar with beer, wine and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, etc. Arrange attractive
displays of salable items. Clean bar, work area, utensils and associated concessions equipment.
Prepare sell and serve snacks and food items. Balance cash receipts. Close bar, store alcohol in
secure space. Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins. Assist in the inventory and order of
alcoholic beverages and supplies. Observe, follow and enforce established liquor laws and
protocols. Work with front of house staff to ensure a safe and clean environment during various


events. Performs essential duties and additional tasks in a manner which enhances City
Attributes.

Working Environment:
Working conditions are mostly performed indoors, in a busy environment. It can involve
exposure to hot and cold temperatures, high humidity and moderate to loud background noise
conditions. Work is performed independently and as a member of staff. Work requires frequent
use of: fingers and hands, walking, standing, hearing, speaking, problem solving, math, verbal
and written communication and customer contact, handling multiple tasks with frequent
interruptions, handling cash amounts, custodial duties, slippery/uneven walking surfaces,
working alone or working closely with others. Work occasionally involves light/moderate lifting
and carrying (1-49 lbs.), bending, stooping, and kneeling.

Remote and/or Hybrid Work: Position must be completed in person and does not allow for
remote work.

Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to previous work experience with the
public, including bartending, concessions or restaurant field. Experience in alcohol service
preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age and TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) or
ServSafe certified. Alcohol awareness education to prevent intoxication and alcohol-related
incidents. Special
Qualifications: Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency desirable.
