registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years MS Oncology RN
experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. Provide expert nursing care
in a specialized Blood Cancer Unit focused on oncology patients
requiring acute hematology support. This contract opportunity is
perfect for RNs with oncology experience committed to delivering
compassionate and skilled patient care in a fast-paced,
team-oriented environment. Location: Longmont, CO (Short travel or
relocation to nearby Denver area may be required) Schedule: Night
Shift (7 PM 7 AM) Job Type: Contract (Backfill Position)
Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to oncology
patients, including those with blood cancers, under established
standing orders (fluid bolus, fever management) Perform clinical
procedures such as lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies (with or
without conscious sedation), and thoracentesis Administer
medications, blood, and electrolyte replacements according to unit
protocols Collaborate with a dedicated team of oncology nurses and
staff to provide primary nursing and maintain patient safety and
comfort Exercise strict adherence to hazardous drug handling
guidelines when working around chemotherapy and biotherapy agents
(certification required to administer) Uphold unit standards that
have earned multiple distinctions for quality of care, safety, and
nurse engagement Qualifications & Desired Experience Valid RN
license with experience in oncology nursing, particularly with
blood cancer or hematology patients Compassionate and adaptable
personality aligned with unit culture Quick learner able to manage
acute patient needs efficiently Preferred: Chemo and biotherapy
certification Preferred: Step-down or critical care experience
related to oncology About the Unit The Blood Cancer Unit hosts 18
beds staffed by a highly experienced nursing team recognized
nationally for excellence. With a focus on primary nursing models
and reduced use of CNAs, the unit fosters a collaborative
environment centered on nurse-led patient care. It features modern
equipment including tele monitors, bladder scanners, and Alaris
