Job Description:

UCHealth, a leading nonprofit healthcare system based in Colorado, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse for our Transition Specialties Nights unit. This role involves coordinating and managing the nursing staff during night shifts, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient-centered care in transition units such as recovery rooms or units catering to patients shifting from intensive care or surgery. The ideal candidate will lead by example, showcasing both clinical expertise and compassionate patient care while also fostering a supportive and productive environment for both the staff and patients under their watch. Coordinate night shift operations in the transition specialty units. Supervise and evaluate nursing staff to ensure adherence to established standards. Ensure seamless patient care during night transitions, managing any emergent issues. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes. Develop and implement training programs for the nursing staff. Monitor patient care for compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Handle administrative duties like staffing schedules and patient documentation. Strong leadership and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in clinical skills with an emphasis on patient transitions Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and effectively Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Colorado BLS/CPR certification Preferably certified in Acute and Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or similar
