Pay Information $2,011 per week About The Position Job Title: Travel RN - Oncology Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: Chemo and biotherapy certification preferred Must-Have: - Compassionate towards the oncology patient population and chronic patients - Quick learner Description: Seeking a dedicated Travel RN for an oncology unit focused on blood cancer. The unit has 18 beds and a staff of 37 professionals. Patient ratios are 3-4 patients per RN. The team consists of charge nurses who do not have patient assignments, registered nurses (RNs), and certified nursing assistants (CNAs). Typical equipment used includes telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and EMR systems. Candidates must be adaptable and compassionate, able to work with acute hematology patients. Typical procedures performed on the unit include lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies with conscious sedation, and thoracentesis. Candidates must be certified to administer chemotherapy and biotherapy. Education is provided for handling hazardous drugs and their excreta. The unit has received recognition for outstanding quality measures, including evidence-based practices and reduced infection rates.
