Join us in Beautiful Boulder Colorado!Areas of Interest are Child and Adolescent, Substance Abuse and Jail populationChild Adolescent and adult orders will be mostly at Coffman, however hours may be necessary at other clinics either live or via TelehealthIf selected as a provider for this clinical service position, you will be required to provide proof of education and transcripts (and proof of licensure, if applicable) and pass all required background checks prior to hire. You will also be required to complete MHP's credentialing process and attend new hire orientation/training before you will be able to begin work. Job Description:To provide ongoing evaluation and treatment of Mental Health Partners' (MHP) clients with medications in addition to other forms of therapeutic interventions. To provide psychiatric services including administering and supervising evidence-based treatment with an emphasis on medical or somatic therapies; medication evaluation and management, identification of potential physical problems impacting the mental and physical health of consumers, ordering and monitoring appropriate laboratory tests, consultation and collaboration with primary care providers, and consultation with emergency psychiatric services.Essential Duties: Acts in a leadership/supervisory role within the assigned treatment teams Provides psychiatric diagnostic and medication evaluations, and provides consumers with medication education and psycho-education, at MHP sites or sites with whom the MHP has contractual agreements, such as hospitals, jails, community health clinics, schools and day treatment programs Collaborates with clinical staff on treatment planning of individual clients Participates in internal consultation with other professionals in the organization as well as with outside agencies Liaisons with client Primary Care Physician (PCP) and facilitates medical care, and when appropriate, transfer of care to the PCP Participates as an active member in multi-disciplinary teams providing comprehensive case management services to clients Regularly participates in team meetings Prepares documentation for certifications and court-ordered medications Attends court to support requests for short-term and long-term certification of clients for involuntary treatment Documents provision of services, assessments, evaluations and treatment goals and plan consistent with clinical and administrative policies and procedures Participates in multidisciplinary focus groups, committees, and task forces charged with researching and improving clinical practices and developing or updating programs and business processes Orders and monitors appropriate laboratory tests at clinically indicated frequency Provides crisis support for clinical emergencies at clinical site, and provides consultation to EPS during office hours as scheduled by Chief Medical Officer Reports high risk/problem cases and solicits consultation/help as needed Responds effectively to consumer needs and problems, initiates and maintains positive interactions and provides timely response to phone calls, pages, email and other requests Provides clinical and administrative supervision to medical students and residents Serves as acting Medical Director when needed May provide after hours on call psychiatric services at frequency negotiated with Chief Medical Officer Promotes and demonstrates MHP's mission, vision and values through both behavior and job performance on a day to day basis Effectively interacts and communicates with other MHP staff/clients/customers/partners/etc. Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform other essential functions of the job Participates in educational instruction for medical students, psychology and social work interns, and with outside agencies as needed May supervise PA's or nurse practitioners Other duties as assignedMental Health Partners offers a diverse, quality work environment and a comprehensive benefit package.MHP application and background check requiredNotice $99,382 - $114,611 Skills & Requirements Minimal Qualifications: Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Colorado. ABPN board certification is desirable but not required (must be board-eligible) DEA Certification required M.D. or D.O. degree (or international equivalent) with ACGME-accredited residency training program in general psychiatry (adult psychiatrists) and/or in child and adolescent psychiatry (child psychiatrists) Prior experience working with adults or children in an outpatient/inpatient setting preferred Bicultural/Bilingual (Spanish) preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be knowledgeable and current with regard to psychopharmacology, medical/psychiatric interface, recovery practices, and evidence-based neuropsychiatric diagnosis and treatment Highly professional and excellent interpersonal skills Leadership ability and supervisory skills Understanding of community mental health systems of care and principles of managed health care preferred, but not required Advanced computer skills including use of electronic health record and MS Office products and the ability to learn new tools as neededExtra:Loan Repayment program under Colorado Health Services CorpsWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer Qualifications Mental Health Partners began in 1962 as a clinic, received non-profit status in 1964, and was federally designated as a comprehensive community mental health center in 1971. Annually, Mental Health Partners serves over 17,000 individuals and our Emergency Psychiatric Services Team responds to 10,000 calls.
