Summary We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to design,
build, and operate the automation, tooling, and platform services
that power a large-scale Content Delivery Network (CDN). Our CDN
delivers petabytes of video traffic and billions of transactions
daily, supporting mission-critical, high-availability streaming and
application workloads. This role is responsible for the automation
and reliability of systems built on Apache Traffic Control (control
plane) and Apache Traffic Server (data plane caching proxy). The
ideal candidate is a systems thinker with deep experience in
distributed systems, infrastructure as code, and large-scale
production environments. You will work closely with CDN Operations,
Network Engineering and Software Development teams to ensure
scalable, secure, and highly automated delivery infrastructure. Job
Description The Technology Product organization works at the
intersection of media and technology and our innovative teams are
continually developing and delivering products and next-generation
technologies that transform the customer experience. Key
Responsibilities: Platform Automation & Tooling Design and maintain
automation frameworks supporting CDN provisioning, configuration
management, and lifecycle management. Automate deployment, scaling,
and upgrades of Apache Traffic Control and Apache Traffic Server
clusters. Engineer automation to support traffic steering,
configuration distribution, and edge node orchestration Build CI/CD
pipelines for CDN configuration changes, application updates, and
infrastructure rollouts. Develop APIs, scripts, and internal tools
to streamline operational workflows. Infrastructure & Reliability
Engineering Architect highly available, fault-tolerant systems
supporting petabyte-scale video delivery. Implement Infrastructure
as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or
equivalent. Develop self-healing systems, health-check automation,
and proactive remediation workflows. Lead efforts to improve system
observability (metrics, logging, tracing) and reduce MTTR.
Operational Excellence Create runbooks, documentation, and
automation to eliminate repetitive manual tasks. Participate in
incident response and postmortems, driving systemic automation
improvements. Collaborate with CDN Ops to ensure safe and reliable
propagation of control plane (ATC) and data plane (ATS) changes.
Security & Compliance Implement secure automation practices
including secrets management and certificate lifecycle automation.
Enforce configuration consistency and auditability across
distributed edge environments. Skills & Requirements We’re Looking
For: 7 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps,
SRE, or automation engineering. Deep experience with Linux systems
administration in large-scale distributed environments. Strong
experience with: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation,
etc.) Configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) CI/CD
platforms (Concourse, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
Scripting/programming (Python, Go, Bash, or similar) Additional
Desired Qualifications: Direct experience with Apache Traffic
Control and Apache Traffic Server. Familiarity with BGP, Anycast,
and advanced routing concepts. Experience with container
orchestration (Kubernetes) and immutable infrastructure models.
Experience operating in multi-cloud or hybrid environments. About

Primary Location Pay Range: $135,692.95 - $203,539.43 Comcast
intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range,
dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as

or later. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast
