In this role, you will be responsible for the Balance Of Plant (BOP) automation system technology innovation. Managing control system conceptual design for new projects from contractual specifications, applicable codes to industry standards. You will perform grid studies and coordinate a variety of innovative solutions for our customers.

Challenge yourself as a Senior Engineer with the Nexus Controls, New Product Introduction & Product Sustaining team. This role is focused on the development of industrial control system software for the Power Generation and Oil and Gas markets by; developing and sustaining application software for all aspects of system operation, defining project execution processes and tools for lean project execution, implementing new product features for continuous improvement or new regulatory requirements, and providing technical input to sales and commercial tools.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position requires a solid knowledge and experience with various industrial control systems. Preferred applications include gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, and industrial balance of plant applications. In addition to strong project management and communication skills, this individual will be required to:

• Clearly articulate the technical requirements/specifications and lead the development of application software for industrial control systems.
• Lead the development of engineering processes and tools to support the global execution of projects by our regional engineering organizations
• Apply knowledge of industry practices and international standards to produce high-quality and cost effective designs
• Support streamlining of engineering processes
• Maintain control software, engineering processes, and tools, implementing lessons learned and continuous improvement
• Perform engineering design reviews of other product development efforts and customer projects
• Provide technical direction and mentoring of early career/lead engineers during the course of new product development.
  
  QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in professional engineering position focused on industrial control system applications
    
    DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
    
    • Industrial Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Compressor, and Auxilliary System controls experience on a variety of OEM equipment and control systems.
    • Field Service experience in the installation, start-up, and commissioning of industrial controls.
    • Mark V / Mark VI / Mark Vie control system experience
    • Experience with Product Development methodologies and Leading technical product development efforts.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet agreed upon goals and measurements
      Strong process discipline with sound analytical and statistical skills.
