Overview and Essential FunctionsPauley Construction has a great
opportunity available! We are currently seeking an experienced OSP
Engineer to work on our Centurylink Project out of Longmont,
Colorado. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position reporting
directly to the engineering manager. The ideal candidate for this
position will need to have experience with redlining, viewing base
maps for OSP distribution, working with GIS systems and have an
understanding of aerial, underground, copper, fiber and
substructure design. Must have knowledge, understanding or
experience working on CenturyLink projects, systems or

will be required to maintain telecommunications
equipment/networking in all central office locations as well as the
customer locations. This position will be working with placing and
splicing diagrams and should be familiar with telecommunications
standard splicing practices. This position will need to meet
quality standards while controlling expenses and following their
businesses unit directives. QualificationsResponsibilities:
- Using electronic tools for gathering and compiling field
data.
- Identify conflicts with existing inside plant/outside plant
facilities.
- Reading and understanding plant and highway/road prints.
- Managing a large work load independently, while meeting
multiple deadlines.
- Design engineering (establishing feeder routes, FDA cabinet
locations, distribution routes and boundaries)
- Redlining distribution layouts on base maps showing all
requirements associated with ISP/OSP distribution)
- Working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), ESRI and
shapefile functionality
- Will be working with City, County, State and Railroad permit
application process
- Contacting and communicating with customers
- Compile data required for the preparation of plans or work
order drawings.
- Understanding of telephone industry standards, local telecom
practices and procedures, local city state and governmental rules
and regulations
- Understanding of aerial, underground, ISP copper, fiber, and
substructure designQualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications or other
similar degree
- 3 years of progressive experience in fiber optic
communication/telecommunications/telecom construction
- Experience in project management, planning, contract management
and accounting fundamentals.
- 3 years of experience with building structure conduit/path
design.
- Any combination of education and/or experience that
demonstrates ability to perform the designated job duties and
responsibilities of the position.Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to have common sense understanding to carry out
instructions that are provided in written, oral or drawn format.
Ability to deal with and understand problems involving different
variables in many varied situations. Ability to collect, organize,
disseminate and analyze significant amounts of information with
attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to learn new technical systemsMathematical Skills:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts (measurements in terms
of distance, proportions, percentages and area. Ability to apply
concepts of basic mathematics including algebra and
geometry.Language Skills
- Ability to read, understand and interpret documents such as
safety rules and requirements, machine manuals of operation,
company policies and process procedures. Ability to write
information including reports. Ability to speak effectively to
customers, vendors and coworkers up through all levels of
management and staff.Software Requirements:
- Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
(Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Must have some proficiency with AutoCAD, NDS, TIRKS
- Must have general computer knowledge.Other Requirements:
- Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid driver's
license.
- Must be able to pass a company drug screening.
- Must be able to attend and pass all company required training
as needed.
- May be required to work after hours, on weekends or be on-call
as work is needed.
- Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this

- Must possess excellent communication skills with both internal
