AMD is searching for talented and software engineers to join our team of developers preparing applications for supercomputing platforms across industry, academia, and national laboratories.This position is for a junior to mid-level software quality assurance engineer. - You will be part of a team delivering a wide variety of High Performance Computing and Machine Learning applications for AMD CPU and GPU platforms. - THE PERSON:A software test engineer with a focus on automation and experience in building and testing development tools and software applications. Passionate about delivering high quality and well performing products to customers. - Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work well within a team environment.ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelors or Masters in Computer Engineering or related subjects, or equivalent experience3-5 years of relevant industry experience KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Implement QA testing and automation environments for HPC and Machine Learning libraries and applications on multiple hardware platforms.Build and test a variety of scientific and machine learning applications for AMD CPU and GPU systemsInteract with internal tool developers, 3rd party tool providers, and internal customersEnsure quality documentation and functionality of applications and containers intended for external customer useAdapt build environments for AMD software stacksIntegrate performance testing as part of the CI test apparatusData capture and presentation in the form of dashboards and reportsCreation of Docker containersSetup and maintain Linux serversPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Experience with test methodologies, software test case development, automation, and executionExtensive experience configuring and maintaining software continuous integration systems such as Jenkins.Experience with -hardware and software debuggersWorking knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python, Groovy) and programming (C/C++, Assembly).Strong debugging & troubleshooting skillsFamiliarity with installation and setup of complex applicationsExperience with build system tools including Make, CMake, autoconf, and autotoolsIn-depth knowledge of software development practices including debug, test, revision control, documentation, and bug tracking. - Experience in working on Agile and milestone-driven product developmentExperience with cloud computing, containers, and job schedulers (Docker, Singularity, Jenkins, SLURM)Linux administration, cluster management tools, (XCAT, IPMI, LDAP)Team development skills including use of git and JiraAbility to work well in geographically dispersed teamsCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS STATEMENT: $125,790-233,610 commensurate with experience and specific skill sets.
