Job Description:

ONE YEAR CONTRACT WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXTEND OR CONVERTLooking for an experienced Test Technician with a background in EMC Compliance. In this role you will work as part of a team responsible for delivering high quality Seagate Data storage products. Responsible for developing and carrying out tests and experiments to gauge the safety levels of products and work with certifications bodies e.g. UL, TUV and 3rd party test labs during product EMC Compliance certifications. As part of a team, you will be responsible for:

  • Have knowledge of or experience with international standards for electrical and machinery safety (CISPR32, CISPR35, etc.). This includes creating test plans and performing EMC and/or RF test standards (FCC, CE, etc.) on Seagate products.
  • Maintain knowledge of proper operational procedures of all test equipment including spectrum analyzers, EMC receivers, preamplifiers, quasi-peak adapters, signal/impulse generators, antennas, oscilloscopes, etc. Assure proper calibration and functioning of all test equipment;
  • Maintaining laboratory environment and assist in keeping it clean. Determining when and what kind of preventative maintenance and/or corrective maintenance is required for testing.
  • Generate interim test reports for certification
  • Consistently able to complete projects on-time & as-scheduled
  • Stay up to date with current EMC standards, test procedures, instrumentation, technology by internal training sessions, external seminars, and reading technical articles;
  • Work within the controls and constraints of any applicable ISO standards.
  • Professional communicator and strong listener, able to interface with various functional teams effectively Required Skills & Experience
  • Associates degree in a technical field
  • Hands on experience with laboratory test equipment including: Spectrum Analyzers/Receivers, Signal Generators, Power Amplifiers, Oscilloscopes, Transient Generators, Power Analyzers, and Other EMC Immunity Equipment
  • Proficiency with common software tools used to manage & improve productivity
  • Direct data storage industrial experience preferred
