Definition:
Perform professional, work in financial analysis including
recording and reporting of advanced
level financial activities. Work in a support role with ERP system
users at all levels throughout
the City. Work in partnership with other employees, divisions and
departments in delivering
effective, efficient and innovative services. Work closely with
Enterprise Technology Staff (ETS)
and ERP Business Analyst to deploy new functionality, upgrades and
streamline existing financial
processes on behalf of the business units as a proxy for those
managers.
Principal Duties:
Prepare monthly financial statements for the LDDA and the Longmont
General Improvement
District. Reconcile expenses and claims balance in Origami to the
expenses and claims liabilities
in Munis for the Liability self-insured fund and the Workers'
Compensation self-insured
fund. Perform annual Tabor reserve calculations. Tracking of
monthly LURA revenues from
Village at the Peaks. Tracking of Twin Peaks Metro District
revenues. Reconciliation of revenues,
expenses and balance sheet accounts for the LURA Fund and the
Village at the Peaks Debt
Service Fund. Tracking and reconciliation of Public Improvement
Fund bond funded expenses.
Track and reconcile revenues to be rebated under economic
development agreements. Evaluate
complex sets of data and circumstances. Work with staff from
finance, accounting, payroll,
purchasing, and other ERP functional areas to ensure high
functionality and usability of the
City's ERP system implementing additional solutions in conjunction
with ERP Business Analysis
and ETS Technical Functional Analysts. Assist in performing testing
of financial modules during
ERP system upgrades. Provide recommendations to key internal
stakeholders on financial
process improvement and/or policy revision needs related to the
City's ERP system. Provide
financial support to staff in the compilation of ERP data to help
resolve problems and support
business decisions. Provide complex financial process analysis of
existing ERP processes. Plans
and performs complex financial process analysis to guide design and
implementation of
additional ERP functionality. Understand, recommend and develop
internal system controls as
needed. Performs essential duties and additional tasks in a manner
which enhances City
Attributes.
Working Environment:
Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment and
requires extended periods of
sitting. Work requires vision sufficient to review records and
enter data, and visual and physical
capabilities to work on computers and associated equipment for
prolonged periods of time.
Work requires the ability to communicate effectively with
co-workers. Must be able to analyze
data, develop logical conclusions and prepare comprehensive, clear
accounting reports.
Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a
Bachelor's Degree from an
accredited college or university with major coursework in
accounting finance, public
administration or related field and three or more years of
increasingly responsible experience in
government accounting, budgeting, auditing, and/or payroll.
Master's degree in public
administration, accounting, or related field preferred. Special
